Casey Farris named President of Madison Academy

HUNTSVILLE – Casey Farris has been selected to serve as the 16th president of Madison Academy.

Farris has accepted the role with the retirement of Dr. Terry Davis, who will end his work as Madison Academy President at the end of the school’s fiscal year, June 30.

The Farris family will be relocating from Brentwood, Tennessee, just outside Nashville. They have been living there while serving and attending Lipscomb Academy for the past four years.

While at Lipscomb Academy, Farris served as Associate Head of School for Advancement, Interim Head of School and, most recently, Associate Head of School for Middle School and Mustang Life. Before working at Lipscomb, he was the Head of School at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Sugarland, Texas, and spent 15 years as a teacher and administrator at Westbury Christian School in Houston, Texas.

Farris received a bachelor’s degree of science from Faulkner University. He earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Houston-Victoria.

Farris’ past roles as coach, teacher, principal, associate head of student life and advancement, along with head of school, will give a strong foundation for his new leadership position at Madison Academy. Davis and Farris already have spent time together and will continue this relationship as Farris transitions into his new role over the summer.

Casey Farris and his wife Tammy have been married for 23 years. Their children are Will, 17 years old; Lily, 15; Preston, 8; Ansley Joy, 5; and three-year-old Hailey Rose. Casey and Tammy met at Faulkner University in Montgomery, and they both graduated from that institution.

Madison Academy served as the bookends to Davis’ accomplished career in both public and private education. School officials expressed gratitude for his contributions to the students of the Madison Academy community.

Madison Academy is a co-educational, Christian-based private school with students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school is located in Huntsville. The academy’s primary mission is to provide a quality education in a Christian environment that will help students grow in wisdom, in stature and in favor with God and man.
