MADISON – Covering a range of topics from social media to accounting, the seventh annual Women’s Business Conference is scheduled for Aug. 19.

The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship will host the event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Huntsville Botanical Garden, 4747 Bob Wallace Ave. SW. Servis 1st Bank is presenting sponsor for the conference.

Registration is open for both on-screen and in-person guests. Early Bird pricing for virtual and in-person attendees is available through July 31. This virtual format will use the Whova platform. Whova will email steps to register on the platform, and virtual attendees also can install Whova.

“The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship combined two amazing events into one last year to bring empowerment, encouragement and education to the many women we serve . . . from the ‘Mom-Preneur’ to the women in government contracting,” spokesperson Leigh Christian said.

“As women, we have so many roles to play, and this conference will provide multiple tracks featuring something for everyone,” Christian said.

The program format will offer multi-session courses. Training topics will include accounting and budget procedures, COVID-19 general support, customer relations, government contracting, human resources, managing a business, marketing/sales, social media and operating a woman-owned business.

Women who work in government contracting can learn about strategies to fill a government contracting pipeline, winning contracts, power of micro-purchases and sole source, along with tips from prime contractors and government agencies.

For a general business perspective, sessions will discuss marketing strategies, managing a workforce, growing a business and starting a ‘side hustle.’ All women at the business conference will hear the best ways to have work/life balance and the overall inspiration and empowerment that women need to thrive in the business environment.

Sponsors as of July 26 are Alabama Media Group, media sponsor; Anglin Reichmann and Armstrong, along with Deloitte, track sponsors; Fountain Parker Harbarger & Associates LLC and Lanier Ford Shaver Payne, session sponsors; and Signalink, lunch sponsor.

Scholarships are available to attendees who qualify. Visit catalystcenter.org/upcoming-events/scholarship-application.
