All American Film Festival applauds work of James Clemens JetsPress

MADISON – Sometimes, you’re so good that you break your own record. That’s just what students in JetsPress film studies accomplished at James Clemens High School.

The All American High School Film Festival, which is the world’s largest high-school film festival, accepted 18 videography submissions from James Clemens students. The Madison students qualified to join their peers from around the world for the 2021 festival in New York City on Oct. 8-10. This year marks the ninth annual celebration of the future of film that convenes in the heart of NYC.

Professionals in this field consider the film festival as the premier destination for talented high school filmmakers and media arts enthusiasts. Festival organizers strive to provide immersive education with a profound impact and to connect the future filmmakers with the rewards, respect and recognition they deserve.

James Clemens students created films in several different categories:

* Kinsley Hunter – “Remember That Night,” Atlantic Records Music Video category.

* Caroline Finklea and Sneha Subramani – “James Clemens Football Promo 2020,” Action Sports category.

* Hannah Jones and Joe Dobbs — “On the Radar Highlight Reel,” Broadcast Journalism: Broadcast TV Highlights.

* Quincy Bowie – “A Closer Look: Band,” Broadcast Journalism: Feature Story.

* Kinsley Hunter – “A Closer Look: Mr. McCants,” Broadcast Journalism: Feature Story.

* Quincy Bowie – “A Closer Look: Virtual Education,” Broadcast Journalism: Feature Story.

* Grant Meder and Mason Holtcamp – “Jetnation: BJ Basketball,” Broadcast Journalism: Sports Feature.

* Grant Meder and Mason Holtcamp – “Jetnation: JC Golf,” Broadcast Journalism: Sports Feature.

* Colin Beyersdorf – “Strings Attached,” Broadcast Journalism: Sports Feature.

* Connor Douglass – “Ella,” Broadcast Journalism: Sports Feature.

* Emma Odom – “Forgive Me,” Drama.

* Xander Penot – “Thanatopsis,” Drama.

* Xander Penot – “Night of the Killer Pants,” Horror/Sci-Fi/Fantasy.

* Zach Williams – “Nothing Personal,” Horror/Sci-Fi/Fantasy.

* Grayson Waggoner – “Them’s the Beans,” Micro Movie.

* Grant Meder and Abby Wimberley – “The Fixer,” Music Video.

* Kinsley Hunter and Abby Wimberley – “Every Girl Has a Gas Station Story,” Public Service Announcement.

Clay Combs mentors these students and teaches introduction to TV production, photography and advanced TV production (JetsPress).

While in New York City, the James Clemens students will screen their innovative creations, learn from top industry professionals, connect with the latest technology, explore higher-education options, receive scholarships and technology prizes, along with creating a community of lifelong relationships.
