Kayla Willett Of James Clemens Breaks State Record

MOBILE- Kayla Willett, left, broke the 10-mile Alabama state record for 15-year old girls in the 10-mile distance in the Turkey 10 Miler held in Mobile. The 15-year old sophomore at James Clemens broke the state mark set in 2011 by 7-minutes, 19-seconds. Willett’s new mark is 1:08.22 with a 6:50 per mile average. She celebrated her new record alongside Brandon Fox who paced Kayla in the race and who won the male masters (age 40-plus) division. Fox is expected to join the coaching staff at James Clemens after his move to Madison from Tennessee. Photo Contributed
