Rainbolt Mountain Chapter, NSDAR, donates books to library in honor of local historian John Rankin

Rainbolt Mountain Chapter, NSDAR, in Madison donated several historical books to the Madison branch of the Huntsville Public Library in honor of local historian, John Rankin.

During the chapter organizational phase, Mr. Rankin provided valuable historic information regarding the earliest settlers. Based on that information, the organizing members decided to name the newly formed chapter after one of those settlers, Elisha Rainbolt. Mr. Rankin continues to provide support for Rainbolt Mountain’s historic preservation projects.

Rainbolt Mountain Chapter, formed in 2019, with the mission of promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. Membership is open to women 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.
