Asbury Church to present Impressions Chamber Music Concert on March 20

MADISON – The community is invited to kick-off the 2022 music season at Asbury with Impressions, a relaxing chamber music concert on Sunday, March 20, ushering in a spirit of beauty and hope in what continues to be a challenging season for many.

“The beautiful and sonorous sounds of the French Impressionistic period of Classical music offers a wonderful respite from the harshness of today’s world,” said Kenneth Watson, Director of Traditional Worship at Asbury. “Considering all the fatigue from the Covid pandemic that so many are experiencing, this program offers an opportunity to relax and just enjoy the beauty of the world God created for us to live in.”

This afternoon concert that starts at 4 p.m. in the Building 2 Sanctuary on Asbury’s Madison Campus will highlight a collection of pieces from French Impressionists including the Piano Trio and Reflets dans l’eau by Debussy, and others by Ravel, Faure, and Tailleferre.

Everyone is invited to experience this free concert. Masks are welcome but optional. Venue space will allow for social distancing. For fellow musicians or those interested in joining a music group, the concert is also a great way to get introduced to some of the music leaders at Asbury and learn more about opportunities to participate in the 2022 season.
