I-565 resurfacing to resume next week, expect delays at night

MADISON — The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that the contractor on the Interstate 565 resurfacing project in Madison and Huntsville plans to resume work on the evening of Sunday, March 20, weather permitting.

Work on the $16.2 million project from east of Intergraph Way to east of the Triana Boulevard overpass has been on hold due to weather conditions during winter and temperature requirements for paving materials. Some work items will remain on hold for warmer temperatures.

Wiregrass Construction crews will be working from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights, as weather permits. Please expect some delays to evening travel.

Completion is anticipated in late summer or early fall.
