Mari Grant Signs College Scholarship

MADISON- The leading scorer off the Bob Jones Lady Patriots basketball team for the 2021-2022 season has signed with Wallace State-Hanceville. Emariah “Mari” Grant (5-4, G) led the Pats to a semi-final spot in the Class 7A State Tournament where Bob Jones fell to Hoover. Grant scored 13 points per game during the 27-4 campaign. “She has accomplished a lot for us while here at Bob Jones and she has a bright future at Wallace State,” said Jazmine Powers head coach of Bob Jones. “Her overall approach was spectacular and was an on-court leader. She was not afraid of taking the big shots for us.” Grant was a Second Team All-State selection and was named All Area, Class 7A Area 8 Most Valuable Player, Regional All-Tournament and All-Tennessee Valley. Grant will carry a 3.2 grade point average to Wallace State where she will pursue studies in forensics and criminology.
