Elizabeth Busby Receives Special Scholarship From Swim League

MADISON- A recent 2022 graduate of James Clemens High and member of the Jets’ swim team, Elizabeth Busby was awarded a $750 scholarship by the North Alabama High School Swim League (NAHSSL). The senior Lady Jet participated in her two top events of the 100 and 200 butterfly along with the 200 freestyle and 200 IM and will carry a 4.0 grade point average to the University of Southern Indiana where she received a swimming scholarship.

A James Clemens High 2021 High School Heisman Award recipient, Busby is expected to help the Evansville, Ind. University in its inaugural season of collegiate swimming in 2022 with its new $30-million aquatic facility. Busby completed her senior season of swimming for the Jets as team captain and by participating in the AHSAA State Meet where she set her personal best times in both the 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley. At the Screaming Eagles’ program she will concentrate her studies in physical therapy and business management. Southern Indiana is a NCAA Div. II athletic program in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Jets are coached by Molly Lund and Busby’s family is extremely grateful for her efforts in swimming for the Madison City Schools.
