Voters will head to the voting booths again on June 21 to decide a handful of races in the upcoming primary runoff election. Today is the first day to apply for and vote an absentee ballot in person.

Madison County Probate Judge Frank Barger said due to U.S. Mail processing times and the brief period for voters to request, receive, and return absentee ballots by mail for the primary runoff election, he encourages voters that need to utilize the absentee process to do so in-person if possible.

“Due to slow U.S. Mail processing and delivery times that some have experienced, we encourage those voters to visit our office and complete the process in-person,” said Judge Barger. “Please understand that the Probate Court has no control over U.S. Mail processing and delivery times.”
