Former Patriot named assistant director of coaching at North Alabama SC

North Alabama Soccer Coalition (NASC) announced Thursday the addition of former Bob Jones High School standout Conner Cappelletti as an assistant director of coaching.

“We are excited to have Conner return to Huntsville and join NASC. He is a fantastic addition to our coaching leadership team. Conner has experienced success as a player and coach throughout his career and will have an immediate and positive impact on our players and the North Alabama soccer community,” said NASC Director of Coaching Henry Mpagi.

Conner played high school soccer at Bob Jones High School and collegiate soccer at Wallace State Community College and Division I Valparaiso University. After graduating from Valparaiso in 2011 with a degree in Sports Management, Conner played in the NPSL for Rocket City United and in the Premier Development League (PDL) – now USL League 2 (USL2) – for the Indiana Invaders, Kansas City Brass, and Lane United FC. Conner also earned three (3) international caps with the Guam National Team.

Over the past 10-years, Conner’s coaching experience includes club, high school, collegiate, and pre-professional. He served as a head coach at youth clubs Eugene Timbers FC and MLS Next club Cincinnati United Premier SC, as head coach at Lane Community College, and as an assistant and head coach for the USL2 Lane United FC.

Most recently, Conner served as the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s program at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon before relocating with his family back to Huntsville.

Conner also served on the instructional staff for the Oregon Youth Soccer Association and was named the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Southern Region Coach of the Year in 2019. Conner currently holds a USSF “B” license.
