Edgar’s Bakery opens in Town Madison

MADISON – The beloved Birmingham-based Edgar’s Bakery has finally arrived in Town Madison!

Edgar’s Bakery has already had two locations in Huntsville at the Village of Providence and along Airport Road for several years where they’ve served up made-to-order cakes and their specialty sandwiches and display case of various baked goods in their restaurant to North Alabama.

Edgar’s started in 1998 as a small, local bakery in Birmingham and has since grown throughout the state. Edgar’s first came to North Alabama in 2018 through the Village of Providence and added the second location on Airport Road in early 2020. The Town Madison location is the bakery’s eleventh restaurant after it began its statewide expansion in 2013.

Founder and CEO Terry Smith expressed the bakery’s excitement at the newest addition, “We are very excited to join the City of Madison community. We opened Edgar’s in Birmingham 25 years ago and have been honored to serve the greater Huntsville area for the past 7 years. We love the city, and the people here in Huntsville are a pleasure to serve and work alongside. Our North Alabama District Manager, Amanda Bevel, is one of our original Huntsville team members. She’s developed a great team of leaders that is also growing along with us and take great pride in service and quality excellence. We hope our family-owned business will become a new tradition for all Madison family celebrations.”

The bakery has come to hold a special place in the hearts of Alabamians for the homemade taste and stunning presentation of its baked goods. Executive Director of the Madison Chamber of Commerce Michelle Epling said of Edgar’s at the ribbon cutting, “Your store brings so much joy to people even in sometimes the darkest times. So, we’re so excited to have you here as a ray of light.”

Mayor Paul Finley also said of Edgar’s in Town Madison, “The economic vitality of our community is strong with patrons enjoying many options, especially in the Town Madison district. The opening of Edgars Bakery adds to Town Madison’s repertoire of dining options. I, personally, am looking forward to the pastries!”

The bakery’s famous cakes and sandwiches are now available much closer to home for Madison residents. Edgar’s Bakery in Town Madison is located at 125 Stadium Way and open Monday through Saturday 6:30 am to 7 pm.
