Madison man charged with arson and attempted murder in connection with house fire

Dominic Edward Germain

A Madison man has been charged with arson and attempted murder in connection with a house fire on Monday.
According to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, investigators, and the State Fire Marshal responded to the possible arson of a home in the 27000 Block of Keeton Rd. in Harvest. Upon arrival, they learned that Dominic Edward Germain of Madison was suspected of setting a fire inside the house two victims occupied.
Officers said Germain had left the scene before any law enforcement arrived, and the two victims were able to escape the fire. During the investigation, probable cause was found to arrest Germain.
Dominic Edward Germain, 30, of Madison, was charged with First Degree Arson and Two Counts of Attempted Murder. Germain is being held in the Limestone County Jail, and the bond has not yet been set.
“Thank you to the several County Fire Departments, the Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Deputies and Investigators who quickly responded to this scene. Your hard work is much appreciated,” stated Limestone County Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin.
