Madison Witches Stroll planned for Oct. 13 through downtown area

MADISON – Time is beating like a telltale heart for women to want to roll with Madison Witches Stroll. In addition, businesses can help as a sponsor.

The 2024 Madison Witches Stroll will flock to downtown Madison on Oct. 13 (what a lucky number!) from 3 to 5 p.m. Registration for the stroll, pet parade and pumpkin decorating contest are open until Oct. 12. Women at least 18 years old are eligible. The event is free to spectators.

A fun walk through downtown, the stroll features witches — enchanted to grotesque — who will parade their pets, spread Halloween cheer and pitch candy to crowds of children along Main Street.

Now in its third year, this fall event brings together residents and benefits the city. Madison Visionary Partners or MVP organizes the stroll.

“Madison Witches Stroll was widely attended in 2022 and 2023 and helps to build community engagement by offering free, family-friendly events to the community while raising money for a local cause,” Melanie Thornton, MVP former executive director, said.

“This year, the Madison witches are excited to announce the ride will benefit the Shoppes of Historic Downtown Madison, who are dedicated to making our downtown a destination,” Thornton said. “There has never been a better way to showcase your Halloween spirit!”

“This premier event brings together residents for a great cause,” Thornton said. “There has never been a better way to showcase your Halloween spirit!”

After the witches parade on their brooms, visitors can stay for fun activities, grab a delicious snack/meal at food trucks and witness the winner in the Pet Costume Contest.

Children can play in a bounce house. The crowd can peruse the pumpkin decorating contest and learn who wins.

A few sponsorships remain open for the Madison Witches Stroll: * Gold Cauldron Sponsor — $1,000. The company will receive logo on MVP website and promotion on social media; marketing material in witches’ goody bags; promotional booth at event; and eight complimentary stroll entries and car magnets.

* Silver Wand Sponsor – $500. Same benefits as gold but four entries and minus the booth.

* Bronze Goblet Sponsor – $250. Same as silver but two entries.

“Your generosity is greatly appreciated. We look forward to honoring your sponsorship. Together, we can make this enchanting and beloved event a success for local families,” Thornton said.

Event T-shirts are for sale for $10. The dark lavender shirts range from extra small to 4X.

Rain date will be Oct. 20.
