New Costco location opens in Clift Farm this Friday

MADISON – The new Madison-area Costco location is opening this Friday, Nov. 15.

The new warehouse is located at 8094 Highway 72 West in the Clift Farm area and will include a food court, tire service center, pharmacy, and optical department. Its gas station opened ahead of the warehouse in October for Costco members.

It will be the fifth location statewide and second one in the Huntsville metro area. In the 2020 census, Huntsville surpassed Birmingham to claim the title of the largest city in the state. The second Costco location aims to accommodate that growth.

The project was one of the most expensive in the Huntsville area this year, totaling $19 million in building permits. The warehouse is located near the intersection of Wall Triana Highway and Highway 72, and Madison County officials approved plans earlier this year to widen Wall Triana Highway north of Highway 72 in preparation for the increased traffic associated with the new wholesale club.

According to the Madison Chamber of Commerce website, the grand opening ceremony is set for 8 a.m. on Friday, November 15. Regular hours after opening will be 10am – 8:30pm Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 96pm Saturdays, and 10am – 6pm Sundays.
