Asbury will host Lessons & Carols on Dec. 8

MADISON – A Madison Christmas tradition returns as the season of Advent unfolds at Asbury Church with Lessons & Carols on Sunday, Dec. 8. This musical celebration takes participants on a journey through scripture and song to explore all of Scripture’s promises from Creation to the birth of Jesus where the gifts of hope, peace, joy, and love were revealed. With an inspirational collection of Christmas songs and readings led by Asbury’s orchestra and handbells, along with adult, student, and kids choirs, this free event will provide two opportunities to attend at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

“At this time of year, many experience a combination of not only excitement but also a sense of overwhelm, and it’s our hope that families in the community can take this time to pause and reflect on the hope, peace, joy, and love that our Savior came to bring,” said Lori Bailey, Director of Traditional Worship at Asbury Church. “Our time together will create space to rest and rejoice!”

Lessons & Carols will take place in the Building 2 Sanctuary on Asbury’s Madison Campus at 980 Hughes Road. KidsCare will be available for ages 3 and under. To learn more about music groups at Asbury and how you can share your own voice or instrument in upcoming services, visit weareasbury. com/music.

Families are also invited to participate in Sunday worship services throughout Advent as well as in the Family Christmas Party on Dec. 15, and in any of the 10 Christmas Eve services on Monday, Dec. 23 and Tuesday, Dec. 24 across three campuses in Madison, Harvest, and Huntsville.
