Christmas on the River at Ditto Landing providing plenty of fun

HUNTSVILLE – South Huntsville’s Christmas on the River at Ditto Landing presented by Freedom Real Estate and Capital, LLC is back for year three – through Dec. 31. Over 12,500 people visited Christmas on the River last year, and this year will be even bigger and better. Admission to all activities and festivities is free. They include:

• Christmas Card Lane: Enjoy lifesize Christmas cards as you stroll down the mile-long Tennessee River Greenway listening to Christmas songs along the way

• Fireworks Shows will light up the water on Dec. 21 at 7pm

• Reindeer Rails presented by Servis-First: Enjoy a 12’x20’ snow village and model train display featuring two main lines and two trolleys. Most of the display has been donated from the community (we are still accepting donations). Check the Christmas at Ditto Facebook page for dates and times

• Wrap up your holiday shopping at Redstone Federal Credit Union’s Holiday Market on Dec. 14 from 10am until 4pm at the State Docks.

• Post your selfies and family photos by the State Docks Mural presented by Singing River Trail and designed by Art Lady Sonya.

• Christmas Card Lane Drive Thru Days: For those who aren’t able to make the mile long greenway walk, you can slowly drive the greenway on Thursdays from Dec. 5 – Dec. 26. Start at Ditto Landing and finish at East Harbor.

• State Docks Stage: New to Christmas on the River, live music performances will take place on Saturdays at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm.

• Friday Night Movie Nights: Watch your favorite Christmas movie on the big screen on Friday nights at 7pm. Bring your chairs and blankets to bundle up! 12/13 A Christmas Carol; 12/20 Home Alone

• Boaters will dress up their boats in the holiday best for South Huntsville Main’s Deck the Docks on Dec. 13-15.
