TARCOG to place 8 Case Managers with Invitational Career Fair

HUNTSVILLE – Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments or TARCOG needs to increase its staff. An upcoming job fair will answer the council’s needs.

“Our agency is growing, and we need additional staff to meet the needs of our aging and disabled populations,” TARCOG Executive Director Michelle Gilliam Jordan said.

Currently, TARCOG is accepting resumes submitted to Indeed.com for eight employees: four Personal Choices Case Managers and four Medicaid Waiver Case Managers. The Invitational Career Fair on Dec. 19 will serve to fill the positions.

Applicants selected for the Invitational Career Fair will attend either a morning session from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or an afternoon session from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in which they will have an opportunity to meet with key staff, tour the agency’s office and participate in interviews. TARCOG office’s address is 7037 Old Madison Pike, Suite 450 in Huntsville.

“We expect some job offers to be extended on the same day, or soon thereafter,” Jordan said. “We’re very excited about adding new personnel to our team to carry out this very important work in our community.”

The “Personal Choices Case Manager” positions involve new-client assessments, yearly redeterminations, home visits, verification of contractors’ bills and daily service logs. In addition, the employee will establish referral sources by disseminating information to organizations and individuals, along with responding to verbal/written referrals of eligible Medicaid recipients.

The “Medicaid Waiver Case Manager” implements the community-based services program. Duties will include assessments of new clients, yearly redeterminations of current clients, home visits and daily service logs.

The employee will authorize contractors to initiate services after receiving notification of approval from Alabama Medicaid Agency. The job involves developing, monitoring and revising a client’s care plan in coordination with client/caregiver to fit the clients’ needs. Monthly visits to clients’ homes will be required.

Both of these positions entail the same parameters:

* A bachelor’s degree is required.

* Full-time, 40-hour-per-week job.

* Pay range is $20.50 to $22.55 per hour.

* Dental, health, life and vision insurance provided.
