Bob Jones senior named 2024 Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year

MADISON – Two-time Class 7A Player of the Year Kennedy Vaughn has added another top accolade to her already bountiful trophy case. The senior at Bob Jones has been named the 2024 Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year.

The 5-foot-11 Vaughn recently signed a scholarship to UAB where she will play for the Lady Blazers.

An All-State selection, Vaughn led the Lady Patriots to a third consecutive runner- up finish to McGill-Toolen at the Class 7A State Tournament after a stellar season finishing 53-10. She holds the school record for career kills with 2,188. She also posted a .254 hitting percentage, 158 aces, 93.2 serving percentage, 212 blocks, 864 digs and 84 assists as an outside hitter.
