Madison Methodist Women’s group to host Gifts of Grace Marketplace Feb. 15

MADISON – The Madison Methodist Women’s group will host their third annual Gifts for Grace Marketplace on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church in downtown Madison.

The event will feature over 50 vendors, made up of returning participants as well as new vendors. One of the new vendors is Cute Little Crumbsnatchers who create beautiful, diverse crochet and sewn dolls and stuffed animals. Other vendors will offer pottery, jewelry, paintings, holiday decor and other handmade items. Food vendors will also be onsite, selling fudge, sourdough bread and fried pies.

“We have a big variety of new vendors this year. It is the craft show of the year for many of the vendors and it is a good way for them to present new goods,” Women’s Group president Carol Moats said.

Some of the vendors are church members, like the quilt vendor and the plant vendor. But Moats says there are also vendors coming in from out of town to participate.

“I saw some of our vendors at the Madison Street Festival and they informed me that they would be back,” Moats said. “That made me feel good to know they are all in to help us make this marketplace successful.”

The proceeds of this year’s event will be Honoring Veteran Legacies, GAP (Grandparents as Parents) Support Group, the Huntsville Free Dental Clinic and three church ministries.

“We get together and vote on where we would like our proceeds to go,” Moats said. “We look to those groups who have spoken to us during the year and that have needs we can help with. We like to help organizations that are not necessarily supported through our usual mission.”

Honoring Veteran Legacies is pleased to be a recipient of this year’s Gifts of Grace Marketplace. The organization honors senior veterans in their communities and beyond and preserves these legacies for future generations.

“We are honored to have been chosen by the ladies of Madison Methodist Church,” HVL president Elaine Oakes said. “They can be assured that the money we receive from the Gifts of Grace marketplace will be used to honor our member veterans and to go towards our educational portion of the organization so we can ensure that their legacies live on.”

Along with the vendors, the Marketplace Cafe will be open, selling soups, muffins, brownies and drinks and soup will be available for to-go purchases. Door prizes will also be available.
