MADISON – What’s in your attic that someone would pay cold cash to have? Now’s the time to trade those unused articles as a vendor at Madison American Legion, Post 229’s upcoming yard sale.

The American Legion Yard Sale will be staged at Hogan Family YMCA’s parking lot, 130 Park Square Lane in Madison on May 31. The sale will open at 8:30 a.m. and continue to 2 p.m.

Post 229 Vice Commander Jean Downs encourages residents to participate in the community yard sale. “Clean out your garage, storage unit or other items and earn some money at the convenient, large parking lot at Hogan YMCA.”

Two methods are available for anyone to sign-up as a vendor:

• Option 1: Scanning reservation links. – An individual can scan the QR Code with the Google Signup Genius to reserve and pay for one or more parking spaces in the YMCA lot before May 31.

For advanced space(s) reservations with payment of $20 per space, scan the QR Code with general information, method for signing up and payment.

Participants should note this key point: Before submitting the reservation, be sure to click the “$20” fee link, which directs submission to an embedded payment QR to enter your credit or debit card information. After the participant completes payment information, the fee will be deposited directly into the 501(c)3 account for American Legion, Post 229. Another path is to go to: signupgenius.com/ go/10C0F4EA4AC2BA7FCCF8- 56849361-american

• Option 2: Setting up at the event – The participant should arrive to set up between 6 and 8:30 a.m. at the event on May 31. For available remaining spaces, pay the $25 fee.

Legionnaires are scheduling food vendors to sell concessions and beverages from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Post members will place an event banner approximately two weeks in advance and adjacent to the YMCA sign visible from Hughes Road.

At the sale, setup time for vendors will be 7 to 8:30 a.m.

Post Command Larry Vannoy stated a few reminders about the yard sale:

• Participants have two options to sign up for sales.

• Food truck vendors will arrive late in the morning and stay through lunchtime.

• Hogan Family YMCA has a large parking lot to accommodate customers and sellers.

• Hogan Family YMCA’s building and facilities are conveniently near the yard sale area.
