Mason Music to open first North Alabama location in Madison
MADISON – Madison is welcoming a new music education facility next week. Saturday, Aug. 9 will mark the public grand opening celebration of Mason Music in the newly developed Midtown Marketplace Shopping Center.
The grand opening will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 243 Browns Ferry Road – Suite #102 in Madison.
Families curious about music lessons are invited to join the festivities which will include touring the lesson studio, meeting teachers, and a host of other activities such as refreshments from PJ’s Coffee, lawn games, a bounce house, and a variety of giveaways.
Founded by Will Mason in Birmingham in 2012, Mason Music is a leader in music education in Alabama, and claims to be the largest music lesson business in the state, offering both private lessons and group programs in guitar, piano, voice, drums and more to all ages.
Distinguishing itself from traditional lesson-only music schools is the company’s highly regarded and award-winning Rock Band League, which matches accomplished students ages 10-18 into bands, where the acts then perform for live audiences in local venues and compete in a season end battle of the bands.
Countless former students and teachers from Mason Music have gone on to full time careers in the music industry, many as nationally acclaimed musicians (Mountain Grass Unit, The Brook & The Bluff), as well as others who now serve professional roles in various aspects of music, including producers, students- turned-music-teachers and music therapists.
In 2016, in an effort to make music education more accessible, Will Mason founded the Mason Music Foundation – a non-profit, 501c3 that provides music lesson tuition assistance to qualifying, under-resourced families.
Through its five locations in the Greater Birmingham area, Mason Music has taught more than 400,000 music lessons to over 10,000 students.
Madison is the first North Alabama location for Mason Music.
“It’s no secret that Huntsville is one of the most awe-inspiring cities in Alabama,” Mason said about the decision to open a location in the greater Huntsville area. “With a constantly expanding music and arts scene, places such as Lowe Mill Arts Center, Orion Amphitheater, and others have put a national spotlight on Huntsville as a music and arts mecca in Alabama. Mason Music looks forward to playing a role in top-tier music education here and we could not be more excited to bring our passion for music education to a new community and now reach students in North Alabama.”
Mason Music expects to add roughly 20 jobs to the community.
