Starbucks opens in Huntsville International Airport
The coffee shop opened as part of Phase 1 of the airport’s 3 phase refresh.
Starbucks in Huntsville International Airport is now open.
The coffee shop is currently the only national chain in the airport. It opened as part of Phase 1 of the airport’s 3 phase refresh.
The Starbucks location serves the full menu of beverages and food items and uses the chain’s latest technologies including mobile order, an order screen that updates customers on their order’s status, and new, efficient espresso machines.
Interstellar Pizza also opened next door to Starbucks as part of Phase 1. Interstellar Pizza is a local collaboration featuring pizzas, calzones, specialty cocktails, and beers from InnerSpace Brewing.
The two locations take the place of office space between gates 8 and 9.
“We think this is really going to set the bar for other small hub airports in the country,” said Port of Huntsville Chief Operating Officer Kevin Vandeberg.
Phase 2 of renovations will bring Everbowl acai bowls, a full-service restaurant, and a quick service restaurant to the concourse and a refreshed retail space and Comet Coffee pre-security. Phase 3 will refresh the retail location on the concourse.
“We’re excited for this. We’re looking forward to this being complete in the first quarter of 2026,” said Vandeberg.
In the meantime, pop-up grab and go carts and bar carts are set up around the concourse while the Spaceport Café and Beer Garden are closed for refurbishment.
The Starbucks and Interstellar Pizza openings come as HSV experienced its busiest month ever in July seeing 168, 281 passengers. The airport also welcomed a new airline, Allegiant, last month.
