Hogan Family YMCA to host First Responders Appreciation Day Sept. 28

MADISON – Hogan Family YMCA, 130 Park Square Lane in Madison will host “First Responders Appreciation Day” on Sept. 28 as a token of gratitude for the brave actions that these individuals face to keep citizens safe.

Hours for the event will be 1 to 5 p.m. “Join the Hogan Family YMCA in Madison for a special day of appreciation,” Jennifer Dykes said. Dykes is Director of Marketing and Communications for Hogan Family YMCA.

“With a family-friendly pool party and cookout, (we’re) exclusively celebrating our local heroes and their families, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, paramedics, 911 dispatchers and other certified emergency personnel,” Dykes said. “Bring your family and let us thank you for your service with a day of fun and relaxation.”

“Hogan Family YMCA is proud to celebrate and honor our community’s first responders. Join us for an afternoon of family fun,” Dykes said. The event is free and open to first responders and their families.

First responders and family members can enjoy access to the Hogan Family YMCA’s outdoor pool. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be ready for the taking. Live music will entertain the crowd, along with fun games and activities for all ages.

“It’s our way of saying, ‘Thank you,’ for everything you do for our community,” Dykes said.

People who qualify as first responders are law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical services or EMS personnel, paramedics, 911 dispatchers and other certified emergency personnel that serve in the community.
