Shop for bargains at Community Yard Sale by Technology Student Association at Bob Jones
MADISON – Who doesn’t like finding a good bargain? Shoppers will have a chance for great bargains at the Community Yard Sale, a project of the Technology Student Association or TSA at Bob Jones High School.
“Come enjoy the fun community atmosphere while supporting TSA travel to competitions,” TSA Sponsor Norma Malone said. Malone teaches computer science and also sponsors the Computer Science Team.
“This year, the yard sale comes with a twist: a friendly fundraising rivalry with James Clemens’ Cyber Honor Society. Both schools are working to rally the most community support, and we want Patriot Nation to show up strong,” Malone said.
The sale on Oct. 18 will be open from 8 to 11 a.m. in Bob Jones’ front parking lot. Vendors will set up from 7 to 8 a.m. Vendor fee is $40, per two parking spaces — one for a vehicle, one for setup. For more room, an additional space costs $15.

Bob Jones TSA is a Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that gives students opportunities to compete, lead and grow in technology and leadership skills.
“Remember . . . we want to make James Clemens a no-fly zone and bring the biggest turnout,” Malone said.
Last year, Bob Jones TSA finished first in Computer Science Coding, third in additional events, earned a scholarship and competed at TSA National Competition. This year, their goal is to place in the top 10 nationally.
Event proceeds will help sponsor student travel to competitions in Montgomery and, hopefully, Washington, D.C. TSA students appreciate their organization: • Taylor McClanthan – “I hope to make new connections, get hands-on experience in STEM-related activities and place during the State Leadership Conference.”
• Andy Nguyen, Vice President – “My favorite memory was during our first year competing at state. We made our relationships stronger and bonded with our TSA chapter.”
• Abbigail Lynch – “Mrs. Malone has encouraged us to challenge ourselves, build confidence and learn skills like teamwork, leadership and problem-solving.”
• Enni Nguyen, 2024-2025 President – “At the 2025 conference (first year competing), six out of seven teams placed at the state level: first place, Coding, Zane Breen and Andy Nguyen; third place, Data Science and Analytics, Enni Nguyen and Aanvi Singh; third place, Video Game Design, Diana Manzano, Hannah Clemons and Dylan Davis; State Finalist, Biotechnology Design, Enni Nguyen, Edward Lee and Aanvi Singh; State Finalist, Technology Problem Design, Hannah Barbre and Abbi Lynch; and State Finalist, Webmaster, Zane Breen and Diana Manzano.
• Diana Manzano, Treasurer – It’s crucial for the community to support aspiring engineers and STEM leaders, to exercise their passions and provide real-life experience to prepare for their future careers.”
