Best-selling author Robert Bailey to speak at the Madison Senior Center

MADISON – A local author whose work has reached the “Wall Street Journal’s” best-selling list has scheduled a session at Madison Senior Center, 1329 Browns Ferry Road.

Author Robert Bailey is scheduled to visit the senior center on Oct. 27 from noon to 1 p.m. The session is free to attendants, and the public is welcome to join center members.

“Join us for a thrilling time as we host North Alabama’s own Robert Bailey,” the center’s Program Coordinator Rachael Burrus said. “If you love a fast-paced thriller set right here in North Alabama, you won’t want to miss this.”

Bailey has written gripping legal thrillers, including “The Boomerang,” the Jason Rich series, inspirational novel “The Golfer’s Carol,” McMurtrie and Drake legal thrillers and the Bocephus Haynes series. “Robert will be here in Madison to discuss his new book, ‘The Boomerang,’ a political thriller about a man fighting for his family against a government with a shattering secret,” Burrus said.

Growing up in the South influenced Bailey’s writing. He is a Huntsville native and current resident. “You write what you know, and I have lived my entire life in the South. I have always been drawn to Southern literature and stories with a Southern flare to them,” Bailey said on his website, robertbaileybooks. com/about. “Come hear about his writing process, his local inspiration and get your book signed,” Burrus said.

Popular with readers around the world, Bailey has filled his books with a keen sense of justice and a profound understanding of what drives people to commit the worst crimes and fight hardest for those they love. He gained this background knowledge from decades as a civil defense trial lawyer in Huntsville. (robertbaileybooks. com) Bailey earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Davidson College in North Carolina. He received a juris doctorate degree from the University of Alabama, qualified for Law Review and competed on the school’s trial team.

“A special thank-you to Carolyn Reagle from the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library for making this event happen,” Burrus said.
