“Gather Madison” to unite residents for Thanksgiving meal, fun at Homeplace Park

MADISON – In its premiere in 2025, the Gather Madison event will unite residents of all backgrounds at one long table for a free, shared meal in the spirit of community and thanksgiving.

Madison Visionary Partners or MVP is hosting the event.

“Timed with the season of thankfulness, Gather Madison will celebrate the spirit of connection and community that makes Madison a special place to call home,” MVP Executive Director Christina Hearne said.

The event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 9, at Homeplace Park in Downtown Madison. Gather Madison will open at 12:30 p.m. and end at 2:30 p.m.

The meal at Gather Madison is free to everyone.

“Picture a beautiful fall afternoon in downtown Madison, with one long table set through Home Place Park, where people come together to enjoy food, conversation, live music and activities in a warm, inclusive setting,” Hearne said.

Home Place Park’s address is 100 Shorter St. – three streets south of Main Street. Dining tables will be arranged in a north-south row. HEMSI will have a first-aid tent at the intersection of Garner and Shorter streets.

A photo booth will be available for a keepsake of the day. Children’s activities will be staged at the park’s south border. Entertainers will perform live at the amphitheater stage.

Power Brands Hospitality Group or PBHG is the Presenting Sponsor for Gather Madison.

MVP will need 100-plus volunteers to prepare, stage and conduct Gather Madison. Individuals can sign up to volunteer at www.mvpmadison.org/gather.

While the event is free to attend, Gather Madison will serve as a fundraiser for Madison Visionary Partners (MVP), the city’s community nonprofit dedicated to enriching the quality of life for all who live, work and play in Madison. Proceeds from sponsorships will support MVP’s initiatives that make a lasting impact on the community.

“Gather Madison is more than just an event. It’s the start of something we hope becomes a tradition in our community,” said MVP Executive Director Christina Hearne. “When neighbors sit down at one table to share a meal, barriers disappear and friendships form, and the foundation for a more connected community is built.”
