Kelvis White resigns as Bob Jones head football coach

MADISON- Bob Jones head football coach Kelvis White has resigned. He just completed his sixth season at the position after compiling a 5-5 record, but missed the 2025 playoffs.

In his tenure with the Patriots his teams were 29-55 including 23-19 in region play and 0-4 in the post-season playoffs. White’s teams posted a winning season (6-5) only once under his leadership with that record coming in 2024.

As for facing the crosstown rival in James Clemens, the Patriots were 2-4 where the Patriots defeated the Jets in 2022 and in 2025 Bob Jones shocked everyone by beating the Jets in the most recent season 54-7.

In a statement White released, he said he’s retiring from his job as an educator and coach after 25 years in the Alabama Public School System. He added, “My journey has been great. I am incredibly grateful for my time with Madison City Schools. My heartfelt thanks go out to Mrs. Sylvia Lambert, Mr. Robbie Parker and Mr. Eric Terrell for giving me the opportunity to be part of the Bob Jones family and to Dr. Ed Nichols for his leadership and continued support.”

White was always hands-on with his players with assisting them on and off the field. He added, “Your dedication and passion has made this decision difficult, as I move into the next phase of my life. I leave you with this: remember the lessons and continue to apply them.”
