MVP celebrates opening of Madison Community Center, volunteers and community projects in annual report
MADISON – Madison Visionary Partners or MVP has released its Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Report, which documents the activities and outreach that the organization has completed in the community.
The report “highlights a year of meaningful progress toward our mission of connecting people who care with initiatives that enrich the quality of life in Madison,” MVP Executive Director Christina Hearne said.
In summarizing the year’s successes, Hearne said opening Madison Community Center added 30,000 square feet for city programs and group meetings. “Thanks to our generous donors, MVP contributed $1,009,500 to this transformational project,” Hearne said.
In March 2025, recipients of Madison Visionary Awards were Marcus Butler, Youth Volunteer of the Year; Jim Chamberlain with Madison Greenways & Trails, Community Volunteer of the Year; Bill Roark, Torch Technologies, Philanthropic Businessperson of the Year; and Marc Jacobson, Madison Visionary of the Year. MVP awarded $15,000 in Community Impact Grants to nine nonprofit and other eligible organizations: Madison City Schools, new service animal with Paws for a Purpose; Huntsville-Madison County Library Foundation, laser cutter and engraver for Madison Public Library; Rocket City Modern Quilt Guild for North Alabama Foster Closet; Heart of the Valley YMCA for Parkinson’s Wellness at Hogan YMCA; e.We Foundation, parents’ respite of medically complex children; Madison Greenways and Trails, outdoor exploring; HEALS Inc, mobile clinic supplies; Still Serving Veterans for Lifeline for Heroes; and Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theatre and Academy, expanding arts education with Madison City Schools.
Other notable events in 2025 were Big Weekend of Service, two-day mobilization of volunteers; launch of SERVE Madison to place volunteers; Madison Witches Ride, benefitting Miracle League of Madison at Palmer Park; and Gather Madison, a free meal and entertainment at Home Place Park.
The “MVP by the Numbers” page gives a breakdown of the organization’s revenue ($417,261) and expenses ($1,050,691).
In fiscal projects, “MVP acts as an umbrella organization and supports fiscally-sponsored projects that are consistent with our IRS-approved charitable mission. Projects must increase the quality of life for the residents of Madison City,” Hearne said.
MVP acknowledged donors during its fiscal year from Oct. 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2025. Gifts in the range of $25,001 to $100,000 included Starfish Holdings Inc., City of Madison and Alpha Foundation. Donors who gave $1,001 to $5,000 were Bank Independent, Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, ValleyMLS. com, Power Brands Hospitality Group, Emily Robertson and ManTech.
