Madison Mayor Renae Bartlett delivers her first State of the City Address
Madison Mayor Renae Bartlett delivered her first State of the City Address on Monday before a packed crowd of business professionals and city, county, state, and school leaders. Her message was one of unity, love of community and working together. An important takeaway was her appeal for Madison leaders to stay “strong, growing and focused.” A brief video featured each city council member highlighting Madison’s strengths and what personally appeals to them. Madison is now the 9th largest city in Alabama and one of the South’s fastest growing cities, and with a school system among the best in the southeast. Mayor Bartlett then went down a list of improvement projects and initiatives covering everything from roads, sidewalks and intersections to infrastructure like fire stations, parks and initiatives like Toyota Field landing the huge contract to host the SEC Softball tournament starting in 2027. Check out the June issue of Madison Living Magazine for a detailed look at her State of the City Address and first few months in office.
