Helen Oliver, Junior Sebright reign as homecoming royalty for Madison County at TARCOG’s Fun Fest

MADISON – After several months of planning, the Area Agency on Aging staff with Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments or TARCOG presented the Senior Fun Fest for a day of recreation and entertainment in honor of older citizens.

This year’s event was held at the Alabama A&M Agribition Center, 4925 Moores Mill Road in Huntsville last month. Approximately 900 older adults from North Alabama enjoyed the relaxing day, TARCOG Executive Director Michelle Gilliam Jordan said.

In keeping with the “Homecoming” theme, Fun Fest crowned its Homecoming Court, which included the oldest man and woman from each county that TARCOG serves.

Homecoming King Junior Sebright, who is 93 years old, and 91-year-old Homecoming Queen Helen Oliver were honored for Madison County. Sebright and Oliver attend Madison Senior Center.
