Milestones and changes come to MidCity
Huntsville – Eight years after transforming the dead Madison Square Mall into a New Urbanist paradise, MidCity businesses are achieving milestones and seeing changes this summer.
In June, the Orion Amphitheater earned its highest-ever mid-year Pollstar Ranking. Pollstar, the live entertainment industry’s leading trade publication, ranked the world’s amphitheaters’ gross ticket revenue between November 13, 2025 and May 13, 2026.
Orion landed at No. 8 worldwide in gross ticket sales and at No. 10 worldwide by number of tickets sold.
“Our continued growth is a testament to the incredible support of the fans, the trust of our artist and promoter partners, and the dedication of our team,” said Alex Craig, General Manager of The Orion Amphitheater. “We’re proud to continue elevating Huntsville’s presence on the global live entertainment stage while delivering unforgettable experiences for our community.”
On the other side of MidCity, The Camp is undergoing a change in venue. As of July 4, The Camp is temporarily closing its original location at the corner of Mid City Dr. and Commerce Place Dr. NW and is in the process of moving to the south end of Mid City Dr. near the Artemis Pavilion and Metronome at MidCity.
The Camp is an original business of the MidCity district, opening in 2017 and serving as a quaint music venue, special event venue, and host of food trucks and a coffee shop.
“This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you soon,” said Lennie Watkins, General Manager of The Camp. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to an even bigger and better Camp.”
It will go out of its current location with a bang on Saturday, July 4 with live music by The Quantaphonics and a view of the MidCity 4th of July fireworks.
