Havoc sold!
Hockey excellence still the main focus
HUNTSVILLE – “The time is right to bring in a managing partner that can help take the Huntsville Havoc into its next chapter,” said Keith Jeffries owner of the local professional team upon announcing he has sold majority of the team ownership to Zawyer Sports & Entertainment.
While the Jacksonville, Fla. based Zawyer Sports and Entertainment have acquired the controlling interest in the team, the announcement included the fact the Havoc’s day-today business operations and front office staff will not change as a result of the ownership transfer.
Jeffries and his wife, Becky, bought the team in 2004 and by 2009 was the talk of the league by winning the program’s first President’s Cup SPHL Championship. The franchise also captured consecutive championships in the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons, but the Havoc is best known for its superb home game attendance which lead the SPHL. The most recent season average attendance was 6,102 per outing compared to just 2,713 during the 2004-2005 season. As for the teams on the home ice of the Von Braun Center, the Havoc have had just six losing seasons with the last one coming during the 2020-2021 season.

I will remain involved with the Havoc, our front office staff will remain in intact, while Zawyer brings additional resources, experience and opportunities that will help us continue to grow.”

The Huntsville Havoc are the latest addition to Zawyer Sports & Entertainment’s family of teams as the company includes work in numerous markets in an array of sports. The company is a sports ownership and management company. The organizations that make up those handled by Zawyer Sports & Entertainment share one beliefa team should belong to its city. The owner, Andy Kaufman, named the company after his two sons, Zachery and Sawyer.
The upcoming 2026-2027 home opener for the Havoc will be played at Propst Arena on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:00 p.m. Season tickets, mini plans and group tickets are on sale now. Single game tickets are also on sale.
