Downtown Madison’s Fall Festival to debut on Halloween morning at Home Place Park

MADISON – A new event for Home Place Park will debut when Downtown Madison’s Fall Festival opens on Halloween morning.

“Join Main Street Madison for our first-ever Downtown Madison’s Fall Festival on Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We’re bringing a nostalgic, 1980s-style fall celebration to Home Place Park at 100 Shorter St., inspired by the simple, classic carnival fun many of us grew up with,” Jen DeLessio said. DeLessio works as Executive Director of Main Street Madison.

Admission is free to the festival. “Bring the whole family for a morning full of classic games, local food trucks, a bounce house and festive autumn fun right in the heart of historic downtown Madison,” DeLessio said.

Downtown Madison’s Fall Festival will offer classic games and activities from the 1980s. “Step back in time and experience authentic, retro fall-festival games hosted by local Madison civic groups, non-profits and community partners,” DeLessio said.

Youngsters and their parents, along with older folks and young couples, can choose from various activities:

* Classic booth games – Cake walks, ring toss and lollipop pulls.

* Games of chance – Ghost pulls and traditional carnival games.

* Family entertainment — Bounce house and local food trucks.

Partner booths will be staffed with members of Rotary Club of Madison, Madison Station Historical Preservation Society, Madison Arts Alliance and Madison Street Festival.

“Step back in time and give your kids a taste of the fall festivals we grew up loving,” DeLessio said. “And it’s completely FREE!”

Each child will receive 20 free tickets to play classic festival games like Duck Pond, Lollipop Ghost Pull, Ring Toss and more. “Then keep the fun going with a bounce house, sweet treats, food trucks and plenty of fall fun,” DeLessio said.

No fancy frills for this event . . . “Just good, old-fashioned festival fun, where kids can play, win prizes, eat something sweet, and make the kind of fall memories we remember from our own childhoods,” DeLessio said.

“Bring the family and come make some old-fashioned fall memories with us in downtown Madison,” she said.

The presenting sponsors are Murphy Homes and Main Street Madison.

Main Street Madison, a 501(c)6 organization, is dedicated to the revitalization of historic downtown Madison. The office address is 14 Short St. in Madison. For more information, contact Jen DeLessio by calling 256-203-6340 or email jen.delessio@mainstreetmadison.org.
