MADISON - Young musicians in the Liberty Middle School band program have earned the right to play in honor bands at two universities.

The Liberty Wind Ensemble received a "superior with distinction" rating, director Gwen Rakoff said.

For all honor bands, Liberty musicians auditioned for chair placement by playing scales, a prepared excerpt or etude and sight-reading.
