August 4 and 6
Discipleship training
Capshaw Baptist Church invites you to its upcoming semester of Discipleship Training classes. If you are new to our community or to our church, we welcome you to join us as we seek to reach "the measure of Christ's full stature" (Ephesians 4:12).
Three classes start Sunday, Aug. 4 at 5:15 p.m. "Experiencing God" can help you learn not just who God is, but how to experience Him as you discover His will, become involved in His work, and build a love relationship with Him. "A Man's Toolbox for Bible Study" is a Precept Ministries study in 1 John designed to help busy men get the tools they need to do in-depth Bible study (without homework). Focus on the Family's "Faith Lessons on the Early Church" will show you how the first-century church demonstrated a radical faith that turned the world upside down.
Two more classes start Tuesday, Aug. 6. At 10 a.m., Beth Moore's "To Live Is Christ" will help you learn more about the apostle Paul and his faith, and will give you a new appreciation for servanthood. At 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., "Precept Upon Precept: 1 Thessalonians" delves into the principles of an exemplary Christian life, covering such topics as the gospel message, the characteristics of true conversion, and spiritual warfare.
Several "Intimate Encounters" workshops also start the same week. Small groups will meet at the church on Sunday at 5 p.m., and at homes throughout the community on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. "Intimate Encounters" is designed to help couples build a more loving and intimate marriage. In these workshops, you will find tools to help you prepare for marriage, improve a good marriage, or rebuild a troubled relationship.
For more information on classes, meeting times and places, and class materials, call the church at 256-232-7763 or visit us on the Web at www.capshaw.org. We're located at the intersection of Capshaw Road and Dupree Worthy Road in the community of Capshaw, only minutes from Huntsville, Madison, and Athens. From Highway 72 and County Line Road west of Madison, go north to Capshaw Road and then west a half mile.
