Family of the year sought

By Staff
It's time to choose Madison's "Family of the Year" for 2002.
In April of 1996, former Madison Mayor Chuck Acura directed the development of a Family of the Year program and appointed a Blue Ribbon Committee to develop and implement the program.
The committee first met on April 30, 1996, and has been active ever since. The committee is now actively working on the program for the 2002 calendar year.
Nomination forms and guidelines are available in the foyer of Madison City Hall and at www.ci.madison.al.us.
Selection criteria include community involvement, religious participation, school participation, civic participation, individual awards, achievements and recognition, and family cohesiveness.
Completed nominations must be postmarked by midnight, Friday, Feb. 28, 2003.
Recognition of the winning family consists of a formal recognition and awards ceremony on April 4.
