K.I.P. projects underway in Madison

By Staff
Local youth, working under direction of the Madison County Volunteer Center, put the finishing touches on a walkway they constructed at Madison's Clay House Museum. The youngsters took on this and other projects as part of the Kindness In Progress program, underway during June and July. A K.I.P. project was scheduled for each Tuesday between June 10 and July 22. The K.I.P. volunteers' first project was to help prepare sets for the Madison Children's Theatre production, "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." Project two was to help compile response letters for listener-supported Madison Christian radio station WAY-FM. On July 8, their project involves preparation of craft exercises for Madison Library story time sessions. On July 15, Palmer Park will be cleaned up and on July 22, the K.I.P. gang will be asked to clean out their closets and donate outgrown toys and clothes to The Needy Asbury Thrift Shop. After the Clay House walkway was finished, the work crew was treated to lemonade and a free tour of the Clay House Museum.
