Madison’s Platt wins Priceville 5K race

Madison resident Chris Platt ran a 16:07.4 Saturday to claim top honors in the Priceville Community Association’s 5K road race.
Platt, 26, finished almost two minutes ahead of Decatur’s Patrick Fagerman to win the overall title.
Fagerman ran a 17:59.8 to win the master’s title.
Madison’s Ronnie Nelson was 14th overall with a time of 20:50.8. He was second in the men’s 45-49 age group.
Alena Downs, also of Madison, had the fastest time in the women’s 25-29 age group after running a 24:38.6. She was 43rd overall.
The 5K race had 209 finishers.
Madison’s Juan Negron placed fifth in the 1-mile race with a time of 7:34.
