Bob Jones quarterback Zach Freeman threw for 208 yards in the first half Sept. 17, as the Patriots pulled away in the opening half to take the Class 6A, Region 8 victory over Grissom, 42-2.

“We were sharp offensively, and our plan was to play well, get our starters out and rest up for next week,” Bob Jones head coach Kevin Rose said.

The Bob Jones offense wasn’t the only unit playing sharp, as the defense gave up no offensive points for the second time in three weeks.

“We’ve played great defensively the last three weeks,” Rose said. “We’ve really made some strides on that side of the ball.”

In fact, since losing to Georgia powerhouse North Gwinnett, 42-20, in the opening week of the season, the Patriots have outscored three region opponents 132-2.

The Patriots will travel out of region play Sept. 24, as they take on Class 6A, Region 6 power Spain Park in Hoover.
