Sale to raise money for less fortunate students

Heritage Elementary will be hosting a rummage sale Saturday, Nov. 13 from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. in order to raise money to purchase Christmas presents for disadvantaged students in the school.

Electronics, TVs, entertainment centers, refrigerators, clothes, toys and comforter sets will all be up for sale.

The money will also be used to purchase small gifts for senior citizens who attend the Senior Center in Madison.

All items not sold will be donated to Goodwill.

“Please remember that times are especially hard this year and a lot of children will not receive a gift this holiday season,” said Michele White, kindergarten teacher. “This year, we are experiencing a large number of families that need assistance this holiday season. During this time of economic hardship, please remember the true meaning of the holiday season.”

Larinda Donnell, school counselor said the sale is for the benefit of the disadvantaged students, so community support is greatly appreciated.

“Come out and help support the school make some students’ Christmas good this year,” Donnell said. “We can all band together and make a difference.”
