Citizens’ police academy applications available
The Madison Police Department will be hosting the Second Annual Citizens’ Police Academy, starting Tuesday March 22 and will run every Tuesday until April 19.
This program is designed to enhance the relationship of the Madison Police Department with the diverse communities that it serves by educating citizens on the structure, specializations, and capabilities of the Madison Police Department through organized classes and personal interaction.
The Madison Police Department will begin taking applications Monday Feb. 21. Applicants may apply on-line at the City of Madison’s website: www.madisonal.gov. Applicants may also pick up an application at the Madison Police Department’s Records Division Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Classes will begin at 6 p.m. and adjourn at 8:30 p.m at the Madison City Police Department located at 100 Hughes Road.
The classes are open to adults 19 years of age and up. Class size is limited to 30 participants and will be filled on a “first come” basis.
Applicants must pass a background investigation.
