Chamber to host business networking breakfast

The Madison Chamber of Commerce is hosting Biz B4 HRS, a speed dating-type event for area businesses.

The two-hour event will take place Friday, March 25 in the Community Room at the Hogan Family YMCA, over a buffet-style breakfast.

Hosted by Teresa and Pete Brammer from the UPS Store and Susan Voiers, owner of the TN Valley Barter Exchange, the event is a networking tool that allows businesses to connect with other businesses in the area on a fast-paced level, also called an elevator pitch.

“We’ll have 10 tables set up with eight chairs and have around 80 or more people,” said Lou Galipeau, manager investor relations for the chamber. “Everyone will have a minute to do an elevator pitch. They’ll go around to tables, talk about their company, pass out any promotional items and anything pertinent to their business.”

The breakfast will give every person room to network with 50 to 80 other people.

The cost to attend is $12 per person.

“The event is not only for chamber members, but for other businesses in Huntsville and Madison,” Galipeau said. “It’s a great chance to make contact with someone you’ve never made contact before.”

Galipeau said one reason the chamber decided to have the breakfast was to accommodate those who aren’t able to attend the chamber’s luncheons and business after hours.
