Madison Academy dominates against Randolph
BY SCOTT WRIGHT / SPECIAL TO THE RECORD
Sloppy was the keyword in the beginning moments of this area contest. Three Mustang touchdowns were called back in the opening four minutes and a Randolph fumble thwarted any chance of converting on a third and long.
However, a Marcus Sease touchdown and two point conversion plus a Hunter Olive quarterback sneak put the Mustangs up 15-0 at the end of the first.
The second quarter saw another Mustang touchdown called back on the seventh holding call of the first half, but it was inconsequential as Kerryon Johnson broke a long touchdown run and Hunter Olive connected with Nick Haas to make the score 28-0. The Mustangs would add a Logan Hamlett touchdown and go into halftime with a commanding 35-0 lead.
The second half saw a long touchdown run by Khyle Jackson to add to the Mustang lead. The Mustangs began to substitute freely during the third, getting valuable minutes for several backups. Logan Hamlett added another touchdown pushing the lead to 49-0 after three quarters. The game ended with a final score of 63-0, bringing Madison Academy’s record to 1-2 as they look forward to a meeting with New Hope next week.
