Madison Academy Boys, Girls advance at Northeast Regional

Jacksonville-  In their longest road trip of the season, Madison Academy travelled to Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum to face Piedmont in what was essentially a home game for the 7th ranked Bulldogs. The duo of Kerryon Johnson and Josh Langford carried the Mustangs to a close 1 point victory, 57-56.

Johnson had 22 points and Langford had 21 points and pulled 15 rebounds.

Academy led 17-16 after one quarter and 37-29 at the half.

Piedmont made a run in the second half but missed a jump shot in the closing seconds that would have won the game.

The boys will now face Sylvania in a 10:30 A.M. game on Saturday for the Northeast Regional Championship and the trip to Birmingham and the Final Four.
