YMCA offering free admission to military

YMCA officials said active-duty servicemen and women are eligible for ongoing YMCA programs such as free membership for families of deployed soldiers, respite child care and scholarships to Camp Cha-La-Kee for children of deployed soldiers.

Heart of the Valley YMCA is allowing free admission to active and retired military and reservists next week.

All three locations, two in Huntsville and one in Madison, is offering the special deal as part of Armed Forces Week, which is June 10-16.

All military personnel, active, reservist and retired, and their immediate family members may enjoy daily free access from June 10 through 16 to the Southeast Family Y and Downtown Express Y in Huntsville and the Hogan Family Y in Madison by showing their military ID.

“This is one way that we say ‘thank you’ to our military men and women who serve our country and to their families who support them,” said Scott Mounts, Heart of the Valley YMCA President/CEO.
