Savage to speak at chamber luncheon on Nov. 29

Sarah Savage, president and CEO of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County, will speak at the Madison Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Nov. 29.

Sarah Savage

Guests will gather at Best Western Plus at 9035 Madison Blvd. from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Savage plans to encourage the Madison chamber members to get involved in their community. She will share information about Leadership Huntsville/Madison County, including its role in the Madison community and its programs.

“Chamber members will be challenged to consider their role in Madison’s future and how each person can harness their leadership abilities to impact our community’s future,” Savage said.

Leadership Huntsville/Madison County is “in its 25th year of identifying, educating and inspiring leaders to serve Madison, Madison County and Huntsville,” Savage said. “Program graduates serve as leaders of non-profit and appointed boards and commissions, run for elected office and engage their company or organization more deeply in impacting our communities.”

A program graduate herself, Sarah became executive director of the leadership organization when it was part of the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The organization has grown to offer eight programs, incorporated as a non-profit and has 12 employees.

Sarah is a member of the Rotary Club of Huntsville and serves as a board member for the Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County. She serves on various local committees and consults with local boards on governance and boardsmanship issues. She has two daughters, one in kindergarten and one in high school.

Born in Nashville, Savage was raised in Dothan and earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations, speech communications and journalism at Auburn University. In other jobs, she has worked in corporate marketing and public relations for a regional bank and hospital.

Registration is required for the luncheon. Call 256-325-8317. Luncheon fee is $20 for chamber members and $25 for others. For more information, visit madisonALchamber.com.
