HUNTSVILLE – Both the Huntsville and Madison city areas have received a new tool to make tourism in the Tennessee Valley much easier and more organized.

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle and Madison Mayor Troy Trulock gathered at the Huntsville-Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau on Jan. 23 along with city representatives to introduce CityVision.

Mayor Trulock said that the new channel in local hotels and attractions will help both cities introduce all that can be found throughout the Huntsville and Madison areas.

“CityVision tells the story of the Tennessee Valley and we really do have a great community here,” Trulock said. “So what CityVision does is that it tells that story in a video in our hotel rooms and as tourists have an opportunity to see what attractions are in Huntsville and Madison. ”

The Birmingham-based company will feature a recurring video in hotel rooms that show visitors in the area attractions such as the US Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Burritt on the Mountain and many other establishments throughout the Tennessee Valley.

Judy Ryals, President and CEO of the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, said she is happy that a concept like CityVision is now a part of local tourism.

“We are thrilled to be able to show our visitors who are already here all there is to do and see,” she said. “It’s a way for us to give our visitors the information and hopefully they will stay longer, spend more and enjoy themselves”

City Vision President Brent Boyd said that Madison County’s $1 billion tourism industry made the Huntsville and Madison area an easy choice to implement his product.

“It is one of the largest area and the state and in those areas, we find the market more naturally fit for,” he said. “We will constantly be updating the channel providing information about current events and be actively involved in the community.”
