Paul Mitchell plans Dog Wash on Saturday

MADISON – Be it hound or poodle, the family pooch can enjoy the Dog Wash on Saturday at Paul Mitchell the School Huntsville.

The school is located at 3810 Sullivan St., Suite E in Madison.

“Our future professionals and staff will be set up outside of our school from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on May 4,” Alexa Ward said. Ward works as admissions and social networking team leader. “Patrons are welcome to bring their dogs at any time.”

The Paul Mitchell volunteers will use the school’s John Paul Pet products on all pooches. Pet products will be sold inside at the service desk. The suggested donation is $10.

The American Humane Association will receive 100 percent of the donations from the dog wash.

“Each year, Paul Mitchell Schools participate in a national ‘FUNraising’ campaign,” Ward said. “Paul Mitchell Schools nationwide to-date have raised over $6 million. This is our way of supporting the American Humane Society while having fun.”

Paul Mitchell the School Huntsville not only teaches its “future professionals the craft of hair but also how to give back and support their community,” Ward said. Annually, more than 100 Paul Mitchell Schools participate in a nine-week ‘FUNraiser’ to learn about and raise funds for various causes. Recipient organizations benefit from 100 percent of proceeds.

“Last year in one of the most confused economies, all Paul Mitchell Schools together raised $2.5 million,” Ward said. “This year, our school’s goal is $18,000. The Paul Mitchell Schools’ ultimate goal is $2 million. FUNraising allows us to give back to the community while our future professionals learn how to make a difference.”

“Our future professionals have been working so hard with FUNraising this year. It truly means a lot to them to be noticed for their efforts,” Ward said.
