SFC Donald E Bates; May 2, 2013

SFC Donald E Bates US Army Ret, 72 of Madison died Thursday May 2, 2013 peacefully at his home.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Judy Faye Hilderbrand.

He is survived by his sons, Donald Jr., Brian, Nicholas, Stanley and James; daughters, Cyndi and Daphne; as well as grandsons, granddaughters and great grandchildren.

He was a member of Copeland Presbyterian Church as well as multiple Veterans organizations. Visitation was at Madison Chapel Funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, with services following at 2 p.m. He was then interned at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Full Military Honors.
